As architects, we are responsible for re-imagining the world.” This statement, made by Professor Arthur Wrigglesworth during a review, took my breath away. I had never thought through the implications, or, as Professor George Kapelos was fond of saying, “unpacked,” the word “architecture.”
The Interns’ Forum (TIF) was established in 2012 by the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) Council and charged with conducting a review and evaluation of the process to become an architect with a particular focus on the Internship period. In exploring ways the journey from student to intern to architect, the committee reviewed the needs of four constituencies: Interns, Practices, The Profession, and The Schools.
